Whew. I'm so grateful you are posting these rich songs. It's been a minute since I have actively sought out Christian music. This particular song, and the Common Hymnal, is just beautiful. Thanks.
Thanks, Laura! I’m the same, never really seek out Christian music (or truth be told, any music) but once in awhile a gem of a song like this one finds its way across my path.
A beautiful song and done so well by the Common Hymnal. I like the songs written by Rich Mullens. Thank you for this feature of the Conversational Life!
I am loving hearing the songs that you have chosen, that speak to you. I am working on a sermon that incorporates songs that arise unbidden within us when we need them and how they are foundational for sustaining us on our faith journey. Sometimes they aren't even songs we like, but are in us from childhood..... We are Climbing Jacob's Ladder, Abide with Me and hundreds more that carry us through tough times.

Thank you so much for highlighting this amazing song. I hadn’t heard it but now agree it’s one of the best.
Glad you have been enjoying it!

I love the experience of “songs that arise in us unbidden”!
Happens to me quite often…
